Description
The Rolex Submariner 168000 is a rare, vintage watch that was produced for only about nine months from mid-1988 into 1989. It was the first Submariner to use Oystersteel, a steel alloy specific to Rolex that is resistant to corrosion and retains flexibility for case design. The 168000 was produced with 904L stainless steel, while the reference 16800 was made with 316L stainless steel. First introduced in 1979 watch came with new Caliber 3035 movement. Distinct feature of this new movement Rolex introduced first quickset feature in Submariner watches. Unlike its predecessor Model 1680 it was fitted with Sapphire crystal and Ratchet bezel. Watch is sporting distinct black dial, 40 mm stainless steel case. Watch is built for up to a 1000 ft. of diving. And of course, it is paired with great bracelet model 93150.
