Yacht-Master vs Submariner
I get this comparison constantly, and the honest answer is that these watches solve different problems even though they're similarly priced and sized. The Submariner is built around function — a real 300-meter dive rating, a unidirectional bezel that only turns one way for diver safety, matte finishing that resists showing wear. The Yacht-Master's bidirectional bezel and shinier finish tell you immediately it's not built to the same operational standard, even though the movement inside is comparable.
If you want the watch that reads as "serious tool," buy the Submariner. On Rolesium examples, check the platinum bezel insert for scratches; platinum is soft and marks more easily than the ceramic used on the Submariner.
